Men's swimming and diving defeats SUNY New Paltz and loses to SUNY Geneseo

ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT men's swimming and diving squad (6-3) defeated SUNY New Paltz, 150-144, but fell to SUNY Geneseo, 211-89 in a three-team meet at the Judson Pool on Saturday afternoon.  Evan Wendt (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School) and Jeff Kaemmerlen (Fairport, NY/Fairport) combined to win three events to lead RIT.

Wendt was victorious in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.  He won the 1-meter with a score of 306.14, and took the 3-meter with a time of 291.31.

Kammerlen was victorious in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.17 seconds.  He was also second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.46. 

#A.J. Broderick# placed second in the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:49.12. He was also second in the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:17.11.

Frank Zelinger (Schwenksville, PA/The Hill School) placed third in the 200-fly.  Kevin Christiansen (Penfield, NY/Penfield) was also third in the 50-free with a time of 22.11 seconds.

RIT is back in action on Saturday, as they host LeMoyne at 1 p.m.
