ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team was defeated by #20 University of Rochester (6-0-2), 3-1 on Tuesday evening. The loss drops the Tigers to 2-6-1 on the season.
Scott Cady, gave Rochester a 1-0 lead when he found himself one-on-one with RIT goalie 
Ben Frazier (Westminster, MD/Westminster). His quick strike gave Rochester an early advantage.
One minute later, at 43:55, the Yellowjackets cleared a long ball down field from ten yards shy of midfield. The ball carried to the edge of the RIT box where Frazier came out to make the play. The ball hit a wet spot on the field, bounced over the head of Frazier, and laid to rest in the back of the net. 
RIT got on the board at 26:44 of the first half when forward 
Dom Colaprete (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) beat two Rochester defenders and then Yellowjackets goalie. It was Colaprete's second goal of the season and pulled the Tigers to within a goal.
Rochester answered in the 27th minute when J.J. Dennstedt scored his fourth of the season. Dennstedt ripped a low shot underneath a diving Frazier. 
The Yellowjackets out shot RIT 17-8 and took five corner kicks to the Tiger's two. RIT took seven fouls to 18 by Rochester. Frazier took the loss for RIT, making seven saves and allowing three goals.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, October 3 when they host Empire 8 rival Ithaca College. Kick-off is at 12 pm on RIT Field.
