ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's volleyball team (8-6) defeated the University of Rochester Yellowjackets (9-5) in three games by scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-22. The Tigers were in command from start to finish, defeating the Yellowjackets, who finished third at the RIT Invitational last weekend.
Senior Ashlie Baker (Northridge, UT/Northridge) led RIT with nine kills and three digs. Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) had 24 assists along with seven kills, in just eight attempts, while hitting .875. Victoria Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) had six kills and four blocks for the Tigers.
Freshman Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) slammed eight kills, while Cat Sullivan (Lehman, PA/Lake-Lehman) led the squad with five blocks.
RIT is back in action this weekend, where they enter Empire 8 play at Hartwick in Oneonta, N.Y.. The Tigers will take on Hartwick, Alfred, Elmira and Ithaca. Play starts on Friday at 4 p.m.
