ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women's tennis team (1-2, 1-1 Empire 8) fell at cross-town rival University of Rochester by a score of 9-0 on a cool, breezy Wednesday afternoon. It was RIT's first non-conference match of the season.
Juniors
Amanda Berg (Mendham, NJ/Mendham) competed in RIT closest match of the day at first singles. She won the first set 6-3, and lost set two, 6-3. In the tie-breaker, Rochester's Lia Weiner emerged victorious by a score of 11-9. It was Berg's first loss of the season.
Michele Caporali (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) played a strong match at third singles, despite losing 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.
RIT is right back in action on Thursday, as host St. John Fisher in an Empire 8 conference contest. The match gets underway at 4 p.m.
