ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's basketball team was defeated by Nazareth College 75-52 in Empire 8 action on Tuesday evening. The loss drops RIT to 4-20 overall and 1-14 in the Empire 8. Nazareth improves to 12-11 overall and 6-8 in the Empire 8.

RIT led early in the first half but were outscored 31-16 over the final ten minutes and fifty-four seconds of the half, trailing 41-19 at the break. The score was tied three times in the openeing half and there was one lead change.

The Tigers shot 33.9% from the floor for the game on 19-of-56 shooting from the floor. Nazareth shot 33.9% from the floor on 25-of-62 shooting.

#Danielle Furman (Coudersport, PA/Coudersport)# (Coudersport, PA) led RIT with 20 points on 8-of-22 shooting from the floor. #Sharon Dennis (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool)# (Liverpool, NY) had another double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.

RIT will close out the 2008-09 campaign on Sunday, February 22 when they face Ithaca College at 12 pm in Ithaca, New York.
