CORTLAND, NY - Five different players scored goals as No. 2 RIT (18-2-2, 12-2-1 ECAC West) easily defeated SUNY Cortland (3-16-3. 2-11-2 ECAC West), 5-2, Friday night in ECAC West action at Alumni Arena. The Tigers out-shot the Red Dragons, 62-5.

#Kylie Mazzetta (Lakewood, CO/Colorado Selects)# (Lakewood, CO) and
#Amanda Klassen (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Warner Warriors)# (Winnipeg, Manitoba) each had a goal and an assist. Junior
#Missy Hall (Chesterland, OH/Gilmour Academy)# (Chesterland, OH) and freshman
#Ali Hills (Honeoye Falls, NY)# (Honeoye Falls, NY) also scored a goal apiece.

#Karen Quigley (Conception Bay South, Newfoundland/Warner Warriors)# (Conception Bay South, Newfoundland) made three saves in her first start of the season, getting the victory.
Hills gave RIT the lead at eight minutes, 51 seconds of the first period when she put in a rebound. Jeanna Dippel tied the game at 13:18 as she was able to knock a rebound past Quigley. The Tigers struck for two quick goals in the second period to open up a 3-1 lead. At 2:35, Klassen scored on a wrist shot through a screen and Geypens put a loose puck in at 3:44. Maggie Henty, however, netted her first of the year at 6:50 when she deflected Scharf's point shot through Quigley's pads.
Mazzetta gave RIT back its two-goal lead with a wrist shot from the slot after a forced turnover just 10 seconds before the end of the second period. Hall completed the scoring at 14:18 of the third with a rebound goal. The Tigers needed to kill off a two-player Cortland advantage over the final 47 seconds of the game to keep it a 5-2 score.
Cortland goalie Katie Double established a new career high for saves the second weekend in a row, turning aside 57 shots to surpass her previous mark of 50 set last Friday versus Plattsburgh.
Both teams were 0-for-3 with the man-advantage. RIT fired 20 shots in the first period, 21 in the second and 21 in the third.
The Tigers and Red Dragons complete their weekend series on Saturday at 3 p.m.
