ROCHESTER, NY - The No. 4 RIT women's hockey team (5-0-1) travels east to play defending national champion, No. 2 Amherst (4-0-1) on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game, which starts at 7 p.m. is the USCHO.com Women's Game of the Week. The video feed is available

Last weekend, RIT defeated Williams 7-3 on Saturday, and New England, 3-1 on Sunday, both on the road. RIT scored five third period goals to erase a 3-2 deficit on Saturday. 2009 All-American #
Sarah Dagg (St. George, Ontario/Hamilton Hawks)# has 16 points (4-12-16) in six games this season. She leads the nation with 12 assists, is second nationally in points per game, and has at least two points in all six games this season. Junior forward #
Katie Stack (Batavia, NY/Rochester Edge)# leads the team with seven goals, three power-play tallies, and two game-winners. Freshman forward #
Kim Schlattman (Stratford, Ontario/Cambridge Fury)# is third in the nation in points per game among all rookies. She was named the ECAC West Rookie of the Week on Monday.
RIT has out-shot opponents 287-94 this season. The Tigers have scored one power-play goal in each of the six games this season. Tigers are 16-for-44 (36.4 percent) on the power-play this season, which leads the nation. RIT is also the highest scoring team in the nation (6.83 goals per game).
Amherst has the nation's stingiest defense, allowing just three goals in five games this year. They have outscored foes 22-3 this season.
Last year, RIT defeated Amherst, 4-1 at Ritter Arena. The Tigers scored three power-play goals, and added a shorthanded tally in the win.
Saturday's game will get underway at 3 p.m. RIT returns home to host Adrian College on Fri., Dec. 18, and Sat., Dec. 19.
