ROCHESTER, NY –
The No. 4 RIT women's hockey team (7-1-2) picked up its second consecutive victory, completing the weekend sweep over Adrian College (5-8-0), 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at Ritter Arena.  Six different players scored for RIT.

Sophomore #Jamie Parhar (Calgary, Alberta) and freshman (Tinley Park, IL)Belina Hooper (Meaford, Ontario/Saugeen Maitland Lightning)# scored their first collegiate goals 1:59 apart early in the third period to break the contest open. #Amanda Klassen (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Warner Warriors)#, #Missy Hall (Chesterland, OH/Gilmour Academy)#, #Kayla Ross (Altoona, PA/Gilmour Academy)#, and #Katie Stack (Batavia, NY/Rochester Edge)# also scored for RIT.

The Tigers outshot Adrian 51-28. RIT was 3-for-10 with the man-advantage. Adrian was

Freshman goaltender #Carley King (Tinley Park, IL)# stopped 27 shots for her fourth win of the season. Adrian's Dana Timm stopped 40 shots for Adrian before getting pulled with 7:01 left.

Ross led RIT with a goal and two assists. Adrian played an excellent road first period, holding RIT to just four shots over the first 12 minutes. Stack had a great chance in the opening minute, sweeping around a Bulldogs defenseman but losing control of the puck as she went through the crease.

Klassen got RIT on the board with 2:51 left in the opening frame, as she converted a rebound off a shot by #Jamie Parhar (Calgary, Alberta) right before a Tiger power-play ended. (Tinley Park, IL)Kelley Prom (Grafton, WI/Wisconsin Wild)# also assisted on the goal, Klassen's third of the season.

RIT out-shot Adrian, 15-7 over the opening 20 minutes of play. Timm kept the Bulldogs in the game with a series of big saves over the final five minutes of play in the period. She stopped #Missy Hall (Chesterland, OH/Gilmour Academy)# twice in front of the net, once on the original chance, then the rebound. She also robbed Dagg on a point-blank attempt right before the period ended.

Timm made 16 more second period saves to keep Adrian in the contest. Hall scored the lone goal of the period, using hard work to score her third of the season. #Kayla Ross (Altoona, PA/Gilmour Academy)# assisted on the goal. Hall took the original shot that Timm stopped. The puck came behind the net to Ross, who fed Hall at the left side of the goal. Hall's quick shot snuck between Timm and the right post to give RIT a 2-0 lead.

Hooper tallied her first goal just 13 seconds into the final frame, wiring a shot from the slot under the crossbar on a 3-on-2 rush. #Ali Hills (Honeoye Falls, NY) and Kayla Ross (Altoona, PA/Gilmour Academy)# also assisted on the goal.

Just 1:59 later, Parhar intercepted an errant pass from a Bulldogs defenseman, walked in alone on Timm and ripped a wrist shot inside the right post for her first goal.

Adrian cut RIT's lead to 4-1, ruining the shutout, as Brooke Zaleski's low shot from the slot eluded King. Lauren Anastos assisted on the goal.

Ross made it 5-1 on the power-play with 7:01 left with her fifth goal. Stack concluded the scoring with a power-play tally with 6:15 remaining. Stack's goal was her 12th of the season.

Last night, #Sarah Dagg (St. George, Ontario/Hamilton Hawks) scored a pair of goals and (Tinley Park, IL)Amy Torgerson (Owatonna, MN/Gilmour Academy)# stopped all 11 shots she faced to lead the Tigers to a 4-0 win over the Bulldogs.

RIT returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, as they host No. 5 Elmira in an ECAC West contest, starting at 2 p.m.
