ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's hockey team takes on the Army Black Knights at Ritter Arena on Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7:05 p.m. in a pair of exciting Atlantic Hockey contests. Come out and support the Tigers in their push for a second straight Atlantic Hockey title.
M & T Bank is sponsoring Friday's contest, while Salvatore's Pizza will sponsor Saturday's contest.
RIT (2-5-0, 2-2-0 AHA) is looking to extend its winning streak to three games, after earning its first two wins of the 2009-10 season, 6-2 and 7-0 over Connecticut last weekend. Fifteen different Tigers recorded at least a point over the weekend. Senior defensemen
Alan Mazur (Burnaby, British Columbia/) and
Dan Ringwald (Oakville, Ontario/) recorded hat-tricks on back-to-back nights on Friday and Saturday. Mazur tallied a team-record three power-play goals on Friday, while Ringwald became the first Tiger at the Division I level to score three consecutive goals and three goals in one period (first). They are the first two Tiger defensemen to score hat-tricks, and fourth and fifth hat-tricks overall in five seasons of Division I play. Ringwald recorded six points in the two weekend games, and is now just three points shy of 100 for his career.
Ringwald was named the Atlantic Hockey Association and Inside College Hockey National Player of the Week. Freshman defenseman
Chris Tanev (Toronto, Ontario/) was named the AHA Rookie of the Week, after scoring three goals in the two wins over Connecticut.
Andrew Favot (King City, Ontario/) leads the Tigers in scoring with 10 points (2-8-10) in seven games.
Army (1-4-2, 0-1-1 AHA) comes into this weekend's contests on a roll, having tied Colgate, 4-4 on Friday, and securing its first win of the year, 2-1 at RPI on Saturday. Cody Omilusik and Owen Meyer scored third period goals in Saturday's win. Omilusik leads the team in scoring with four goals and four assists for eight points in seven games this season. Meyer, a two-time All-Atlantic Hockey Association selection (second team, 2007-08, first team, 2008-09), has five points this season, and 104 in 106 career games. Jay Clark has seen most of the time in net this season for Army. He has a 1-3-1 mark with a 3.78 goals against average and .892 save percentage in five contests.
RIT went 2-1-1 against the Black Knights last season, and lead the all-time series between the two schools, 3-2-3. RIT is 1-1-2 against Army at Ritter Arena. Last season, Army won 5-3 on Nov. 14, while the Tigers responded with a 6-3 victory the following night. At West Point, RIT defeated the Black Knights, 3-2 on Feb. 20, while the two teams skated to a 1-1 tie the following evening. In 2007-08, the two teams skated to 1-1 and 2-2 ties at Ritter Arena.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for RIT faculty, staff and alumni and $5 for students with ID. Fans can buy special reserved seats in Section 100. Prices are $12 for adults, $10 for RIT faculty, staff and alumni, and $7 for students. Buying a reserved section ticket will guarantee you a seat for the game.
Both games will be aired live on Time Warner Cable Sports channel 26, with Gene Battaglia and John Ditullio bringing you the action.
