ONEONTA, NY - The RIT volleyball team (13-10) placed fourth at the 2009 Oneonta State Invitational after losing a pair of matches to Oneonta and Skidmore on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers fell to host Oneonta in four games, 25-16, 22-25, 25-11, 17-25, then lost to Skidmore in three, 25-19, 27-25, 25-21. Freshman setter
Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Senior middle hitter
Victoria Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) slammed a team-best 15 kills to go along with five blocks in the loss to Oneonta, while freshman
Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) was right behind with 11 kills. Worth dished out 33 assists, added four kills and slammed two service aces.
Audrey DiPoala (Victor, NY/Victor) recorded a team-best 10 digs.
Moore led RIT with 12 kills, while hitting .360 in the loss to Skidmore. Worth recorded 27 assists, while Petko chipped in with eight digs and four blocks.
Alli Kamsch (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) hit .600 with three kills and two blocks.
On Friday, the Tigers recorded two decisive three-game wins over Lycoming and SUNY Purchase.
The Tigers are right back in action on Tuesday, as they host SUNY Geneseo at 7 p.m. Come on out to Clark Gym to support "Real Tigers Dig Pink."
