ONEONTA, NY - The RIT wrestling team (6-9) dropped its third straight dual meet, falling 39-7 at SUNY Oneonta on Saturday. Standouts
#Mike McInally (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen)# (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen) and
#Luke Baum (Ontario, NY/Wayne)# (Ontario, NY/Wayne) picked up the lone wins of the afternoon for RIT. SUNY Oneonta improved to 8-8-1.
Oneonta recorded five pins in the victory.
McInally gave RIT an early 4-0 lead after securing a 14-4 major decision victory over Carlos Soto at 125 lbs. McInally, ranked third nationally in his weight class, improved to 24-0 this season.
Baum, ranked fourth nationally at 141 lbs., defeated Charlie Trumm by a score of 7-2 to give RIT a 7-4 lead. Baum is now 30-6 this season and is within reach of breaking his own single-season record of 38 wins, set in 2005-06.
The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, as they host SUNY Cortland in a dual match starting at 7 p.m.
