PITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT women's basketball team was beaten by Keuka College 76-55 in the seventh place game of the JPMorgan Chase Scholarship Tournament on Saturday morning. The loss drops RIT to 3-11 on the season.
RIT kept the game close in the first half, trailing 30-27 at the break. RIT shot 32.4% from the floor in the first half on 11-of-34 from the floor.
#Rachel Bruno (Clyde, NY/Clyde-Savannah)# (Clyde, NY/Clyde-Savannah) led RIT with 12 first-half points.
The Tigers went cold from the floor in the second half, shooting only 26.5%. RIT went 1-for-8 from three point land and committed 11 turnovers.
Bruno led RIT with a career high 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
#Danielle Furman (Coudersport, PA/Coudersport)# (Coudersport, PA) chipped in 19 points and dished out three assists.
Anne Wapshire (Blasdell, NY) scored eight points and
#Charley Scott-McGrail (Batavia, NY/Notre Dame)# (Batavia, NY/Notre Dame) added seven points and had a team-high 11 rebounds.
RIT returns to Empire 8 play on Tuesday night when they play Alfred University. Game time is at 6 pm in Alfred, New York.
