ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (3-8, 0-5 E8) women's basketball team was defeated by Ithaca College (8-5, 4-0 E8) 77-64 in Empire 8 action on Sunday afternoon.  RIT made a spirited comeback in the second half, but fell just short.

RIT shot 40.8% from the floor, including 42.9% in the second half. #Danielle Furman (Coudersport, PA/Coudersport)# (Coudersport, PA) led RIT with a career-high 20 points, 18 of which came in the second half. #Sharon Dennis (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool)# (Liverpool, NY) posted another double-double scoring 15 points and adding 14 rebounds.

Ithaca was led by Katherine Bixby who scored 27 points and dished out six assists. Jordan Confessore chipped in 11 points off the bench.

RIT awaits their opponent int he first round of JP Morgan Chase Scholarship Tournament. The tournament gets underway on Tuesday evening.
