Women's Soccer to Play Nazareth in the Empire 8 Tournament on Saturday at Ithaca

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women's soccer team (9-6-2, 5-2-1 Empire 8) earned the #3 seed in the 2008 Empire 8 Women's Soccer Championship, which will be held at #1 Ithaca on Saturday and Sunday. 
The second semifinal at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday pits second-seeded Nazareth (11-6-1, 7-1) against third-seeded RIT (9-6-2, 5-2-1) in a rematch of Wednesday's game won 2-0 by the Golden Flyers.

The top-seeded and defending conference champion Bombers (12-2-2 overall, 7-1 conference) meet fourth-seeded Stevens (12-4-2, 5-3) in Saturday's opener at 11 a.m. Ithaca won 2-0 on the road when the teams played on Sept. 27.

RIT lost to Ithaca, 4-1 on Sept. 20 and defeated Stevens on the road, 1-0 on Oct. 18.

The semifinal winners will meet in the championship game on Sunday at 1 p.m., unless Ithaca hosts the men's final as well, in which case the women's final will be at 11 a.m. instead.
