ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women's tennis team closed out their regular season with a 6-3 win over SUNY Cortland on a sunny Tuesday afternoon at RIT Courts. The women end the regular season with an overall record of 8-3 and remain 7-1 in the Empire 8 conference.

JoJo Cash (Rochester, NY/Brighton) and

Berg ended the regular season with a record of 13-2 at first singles, winning her match 6-1, 6-0. Francisco battled out a tough match at second, falling to her opponent in a third set tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-1, 8-10. Caporali took a tough loss at third, falling 6-0, 6-2, while Cash garnered a spotlight win at fourth singles, winning with a close 7-5, 6-3 score. Lindsey Gibson (Glastonbury, CT/Mercy)# (Glastonbury, CT/Mercy) was defeated for the first time this season, losing at sixth singles 2-6, 4-6.
The Tigers, seeded second in conference, will travel to Hoboken, N.J. this weekend to compete in the Empire 8 Championships. Their first match, against #3 Nazareth College in the semifinals, is Saturday at 2 p.m.
