ITHACA, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought battle to Empire 8 rival Ithaca College, 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Bombers scored the game-winning goal inside the last two minutes of regulation, handing RIT their first loss in Empire 8 play this season.

Jeff Diaz (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood)# (Brentwood, NY) and fired a shot from the left side finding the right corner of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Ithaca tied the game in the 56th minute on a goal from Jason Kaufman. He gathered in a loose ball inside RIT's box and scored when
Alan Smith (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) found himself off his line.
It looked as if the game would head into overtime until Jeff South scored in the 89th minute for Ithaca. He took a pass from Matt Baluzy and scored with a shot from nine yards out giving the Bombers a 2-1 lead.
Ithaca fired 19 shots to RIT's eight and held the corner kick advantage 7-2.
Allan Smith (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) took the loss for RIT, allowing two goals and making five saves.
RIT, now 4-6-0 overall on the season, will face Daemen College on Monday, October 13 at 4 pm on RIT Field.
