ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT volleyball team (13-19) dropped its fifth straight match on Tuesday evening, falling to SUNY Brockport (10-17) in four games at the Clark Gym on Tuesday evening. Before the match, RIT honored its three seniors,
NIchole Boxler (Varysburg, NY/Attica) (Varysburg, NY/Attica),
Kate Gleason (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) and
Heidi Little (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake).
RIT started slow in game one, getting down 12-9 before roaring back to win the game 25-18. The Golden Eagles found their momentum and defeated RIT in the next three games, 25-23, 25-18, 25-21.
Vic Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) led RIT with 14 kills and five blocks. Boxler recorded 27 assists and seven kills. while hitting .636. Gleason led RIT with 12 digs and added three blocks. Little recorded four blocks.
The Tigers are off this weekend and back in action on Friday, October 24, as they travel to Ithaca to play in Empire 8 crossover action. RIT plays Elmira and Hartwick to open weekend play and then play Nazareth and Alfred on Saturday, October 25.
