Tigers Allow Two Second Half Goals

ROCHESTER, NY –
The RIT (3-6-0) men's soccer team held a 1-0 lead at half time over cross-town foe the University of Rochester (6-1-2). But, the Yellowjackets scored two second-half goals en route to a 2-1 win over RIT on Tuesday afternoon at RIT Field.

RIT managed just two shots in the first half, but made the second one count. Just before halftime #Allen Nicholson (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg Area)# (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg Area) scored off of a free kick. He gathered in a loose ball just inside the Rochester box off of a free kick and beat Michael Peacock with a good hard shot.

After halftime, the Yellowjackets scored the equalizer on a goal from J.J. Dennstedt. He scored on a feed from Dominic Pellingra in the 64th minute.

Rochester took the lead in the 74th minute when Sean Hantes converted on another assist from Pellingra.

RIT was able to generate some good scoring chances down the stretch. Endri Kita (Albany, NY/Albany) (Albany, NY/Albany Academy) fired a good hard shot off of a nice build up late in the half but his shot was gobbled up by Peacock.

RIT's Alan Smith (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) was outstanding in net, making seven saves, many from point-blank range.

The Tigers hit the road this weekend for a pair of Empire 8 contests. RIT will face Elmira College on Saturday, October 4 at 3 pm and Ithaca College on Sunday, October 5 at 3 pm.
