PITTSFORD, NY - The RIT softball team (9-14, 3-4 Empire 8) extended its winning streak to three game, pounding 23 hits en route to a doubleheader sweep of Nazareth College on a Saturday afternoon.  RIT won game one 6-2 and game two, 14-1 in five innings.

The 14 runs in game two is a season high for RIT.

In game one, Breana Sniezek (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) was 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored.  Stephanie Nailos (Pittsfield, MA/Taconic) (Pittsfield, MA/Taconic) had two hits and two RBI, while Nikki Taylor (Oswego, NY/Oswego) (Oswego, NY/Oswego) and Katie Grenga (Syracuse, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) (Syracuse, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) each had two hits.   Rachel Richards (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels Academy) (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels Academy) walked twice, scored two runs and drove in one.

Mary Keegan (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) picked up her sixth win of the season, throwing a complete-game, six hitter.  She allowed one earned run and struck out eight.

In game two, Amanda Morehouse (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Academy) (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Academy) thre a four-hitter to pick up her second win of the year.

RIT scored a season-high 10 fourth inning runs to break open a close game.

Taylor was 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.  Sniezek added two hits and drove in two runs.  Nailos, Shila Wells (Underhill, VT/Essex) (Underhill, VT/Essex), Jenna Kilroy (Albany, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) (Albany, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) and Grenga also drove in a pair of runs each in the winning effort.

Sniezek had six hits on the afternoon, while Taylor ripped four base hits.

Nazareth is 6-14 overall and 0-6 in Empire 8 play.

RIT will look to extend its winning strak on Sunday, as they host Alfred University on Sunday afternoon in a doubleheader at RIT Field.  First pitch is at 1 p.m.
