ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (8-6-2, 2-3-1, E8) men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw versus Elmira College (4-9-2, 1-4-1 E8) on a sun-drenched afternoon at RIT Field.
Neither team generated many good scoring chances as RIT fired five shots to the Soaring Eagles one.
Chuck Marion (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) (Syracuse, NY) had a good look late in the half but his shot just missed the far post.
Elmira took the lead in the 49th minute. Cameron DeRocker deflected a shot by Anders Ostrum past RIT keeper
Alan Smith (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) (Lancaster, PA).
RIT picked up the pace of play and began generating solid scoring chances. In the 81st minute the Tigers broke through and equalized.

Dan Holowaty (Strongville, OH) ran onto and one-timed into the net for his fifth goal of the season.
Bret Dietz (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) (Harrisburg, PA) and
John Braswell (LeRoy, NY/LeRoy) (LeRoy, NY) each had good chances to win the game for the Tigers at the end of regulation and in overtime. Dietz's header rang off the cross-bar and Braswell's shot just made it over the top of the cross-bar.
RIT had 25 shots to Elmira's four. John Deprimo made three saves in net for the Soaring Eagles.
The Tigers will face Hamilton College on Wednesday, October 24 at 4 pm in Clinton, New York.
