Men's Soccer Earns Shutout Win Over Keuka

KEUKA PARK, NY -
The RIT men's soccer team (8-5-1) got back in the winning column after defeating Keuka College by a score of 4-0 on Wednesday night.  RIT tallied three second half goals in the win.

The first half saw both teams shoot only six times as the two squads defended very well.  The Tigers took advantage of one of its six shots in the 23rd minute when sophomore Jeff Diaz (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood) (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood) fed a perfect pass to freshman Daniel Holowaty (Strongsville, OH/St. Ignatious) (Strongsville, OH/Ignatious), who ripped a shot home for his fourth goal of the season. 

RIT held a 1-0 lead until the 61st minute, when Holowaty set up Diaz for a big insurance goal. 

RIT would tack on two more goals in the final minutes.  Senior Chuck Marion (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) scored an goal off an assist from Allen Nicholson (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) in the 85th minute. Fellow senior Mark Frisicano (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) followed suit by netting an unassisted goal two minutes later.  Frisicano's goal was his seventh of the season and 25th of his career, moving him into sole possession of 10th place in all time goal scoring at RIT.

The Tigers out-shot Keuka 18-12.  Senior Dan Slocum (Irondequoit, NY/Bishop Kearney) (Irondequoit, NY/Bishop Kearney), making his first appearance of the season, picked up the shutout, stopping three shots.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, as they host Elmira in an Empire 8 match, starting at 12 p.m.
