WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- Senior co-captain Jason Chafe (Stoney Creek, Ont./Burlington Cougars) (Stoney Creek, Ontario) scored two goals and added an assist as the #10 RIT (5-2-0) Tigers defeated Williams College (2-2-1) 5-3 on Sunday afternoon. Chafe has scored six points in the last two games to lead the Tigers.

RIT opened the scoring early in the first period when co-captain Michael Tucciarone (Richmond Hill, Ont./Stouffville Spirit) (Richmond Hill, Ontario) scored an even strength goal on asists from Tristan Fairbarn (Innisfill, Ont./Newmarket Hurricanes) (Innisfill, Ontario) and Jason Chafe (Stoney Creek, Ont./Burlington Cougars) at 4:23.

Williams tied the score at 1-1 at the 7:17 mark of the first when Greg Schutz took a pass from Will Bruce and beat George Eliopoulos (Markham, Ont./St. Michaels Buzzers).

Just 2:31 into the second period Brad Harris (Portage La Prairie, Man./Leamington Flyers) (Portage La Prairie, Manitoba) gave the Tigers the lead once again with his goal on an assist from Darren Doherty (Duoro, Ont./Cobourg Cougars) (Douro, Ontario).

Williams answered right back when Steve Baldassari took a pass Colin Greenlhalgh at 3:49 of the second tying the score at 2-2.

The Tigers finished the period strong scoring a pair of goals. Jason Chafe (Stoney Creek, Ont./Burlington Cougars) tallied made it 3-2 RIT assists from Tucciarone and Brandon Mulholland (Newmarket, Ont./Newmarket Hurricanes) (Newmarket, Ontario). The assist by Mulholland was the first point of his college career.

Tony Bifulco (Falmouth, Maine/Tulsa Crude) (Falmouth, ME) tallied what would prove to be the game-winning goal with just 12 seconds remaining in the period on assists from Brent Macovi (Stoney Creek, Ont./Hamilton Kilty Bees) (Stoney Creek, Ontario) and Brian Payant (Antioch, IL/Fairfield University) (Antioch, IL), giving RIT a 4-2 lead heading into the third.

Early in the third Williams got to within a goal when Steve Bruch scored a power play goal at the 3:03 mark.

RIT goalie George Eliopoulos (Markham, Ont./St. Michaels Buzzers) (Markham, Ontario) was fabulous on Sunday, making 39 saves. He was especially good in the third period stopping 22 shots including several from point blank range.

Chafe closed out the scoring in the third with his second tally of the game. He gathered the puck and fired into the empty net giving the Tigers the 5-3 victory.

RIT was outshot 42-29 on Sunday. The Tigers went 0-9 on the power play ut held Williams to 1-8 on the man advantage.
