Women's Volleyball Powers Past Buffalo State for 20th Win of the Year

ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT Women's Volleyball team earned its 20th victory of the 2004 season in convincing fashion on Tuesday evening, cruising to a 30-13, 30-24, 30-19 win over Buffalo State at the Clark Gymnasium.

Katie Werner (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) recorded 18 assists.  Cecilia Enestrom (Medicine Hat, Alberta/McCoy) (Medicine Hat, Alberta/McCoy) picked up 13 digs to go along with five kills.  Classmate Tahlia Miller (Southampton, NY/East Hampton) (Southampton, NY/East Hampton) also recorded 13 digs and seven kills.  The seven kills were a team-high.

Sophomore Dani Fisher (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) led RIT with three blocks.  Junior Bonnie Harriman (Danbury, CT/Danbury) (Danbury, CT/Danbury) recorded five kills in just seven attempts.  RIT hit .275 as a team in the match.

All 16 players on the active roster played in the game for the Tigers.

RIT (20-10, 6-1 Empire 8) is the No. 5 seed in this weekend's NYSWCAA Tournament, which will be held in Cortland.  The Tigers open up tournament play at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with a match versus #12 SUNY Oneonta.  RIT defeated SUNY Oneonta in four games on October 15.  The winner of that match will go on to play #4 Skidmore at 4 p.m.
