Click for Ithaca vs. RIT BoxscoreRochester, NY: Rochester Institute of Technology falls 0-3 to Ithaca (24-30, 13-30, 16-30). The only chance of RIT moving on to the NCAA's has been squelched.
RIT played a tough match, but the Bombers superior defense and offense caught the Tigers offgaurd. The Tigers' hitters were barely able to register any kills on the Bombers due to their adaptability and precise coordination. Once the Tigers placed a kill, the Bombers were sure to cover that spot so that it did not happen again. Constant improvements made by the Bombers gave them the advantage they needed to take the victory.
The Tiger offense was led by Chris Anabel (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal) (Apalachin, NY) with eight kills. Following up were teammates Katie Sander (Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) (Scotia, NY) with six kills, 12 digs, and Missy Groginski (Brewerton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) (Brewerton, NY) leading the defense with 16 digs. Tonight marked the end of Sander's successful career at Clark Gymnasium.
The Tigers are waiting to here whether or not they make post season play at the ECAC Tournament which will be revealed Monday.
