DeMichiel was named the NCAA East Region Most Outstanding Player after stopping 63-of-66 shots as RIT became the first Atlantic Hockey Association squad to advance to the NCAA Frozen Four. On Friday, DeMichiel led the fourth-seeded Tigers to 2-1 win over top-seeded Denver, tying his career-high with 39 saves, many of which spectacular. On Saturday, DeMichiel stopped 24-of-26 shots in leading RIT to a 6-2 win over third-seeded New Hampshire. DeMichiel leads the nation with 27 wins, and is in the top-five nationally with a 1.98 goals against average, and .924 save percentage.
