Dempsey earned national runner-up honors in the pole vault at 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. on Friday. Dempsey recorded a leap of 5.02 meters, tying is own school record set at the ECAC Championships. Jake Winder of North Central College won the event with a leap of 5.12 meters. Dempsey became RIT's 10th indoor All-American and first in the pole vault.
