Simmons placed fourth in the 800 meter run with a finishing time of 2:14.77, earning her All-American honors in the event. Simmons top time of the year in the 800 meter run was 2:13.70, at the Deneault Invitational at Cornell University. Earlier in the week, Simmons was recognized as the Indoor Track Atlantic Region (NY State and New Jersey) Female Athlete of the Year. This award recognizes the incredible season Danielle has had both in extremely fast times and great depth.
