Heidi Spalholz broke two RIT school records at the Marc Deneault Memorial Invitational at Cornell University on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Spalholz shattered her own 3000 meter run school record by over 15 seconds in a time of 10:43.10, on her way to a first place finish, qualifying her for an appearance at the ECAC Championships at Tufts University. Spalholz also defeated her own school record in the 800 meter run with her 6th place finish (2:22.33), qualifying for the ECAC Championships.

She was also a member of the women’s 4x400 meter relay team, which broke a nine year old school record by just over one second. The other members of this record-setting team include Lisa Curtin, Erin Canfield, and Jessica McCarthy. The Tigers finished fourth in a time of 4:21.49.

Spaholz and the Tigers will compete at the NYSCTC Championships at St. Lawrence University on Friday and Saturday.
