Junior Mike Tarantino scored a hat-trick, his first of the season, to help the Tigers defeat Utica 8-4 on Saturday evening. Tarantino opened the scoring at 1:52 in the first period on a pass from J.R. Holmes, and scored the second RIT goal at 15:19 from David Bagley and Holmes. His short-handed goal at 6:39 in the final stanza gave the Tigers the 7-2 lead.

Tarantino also collected a short-handed goal in RIT's crucial 5-3 win over Elmira the previous evening.

The Tigers are idle this week as it is final week. They will play their final regular season game on Friday, Feb. 28th against Hobart at 7 p.m. If the Tigers prevail, they clinch home ice advantage for the ECAC West play-offs on March 8-9.
