The RIT men’s cross country team faced fierce NCAA division one competition and ran very competitive at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday. The Tigers scored better than Wright State, Bowling Green, Wabash College, Wisconsin-Green Bay, and Arkansas State.

Leading the way for RIT in the past two meets has been senior Thomas Batey. Batey’s 52nd place finish out of 181 competitors in a time of 26:50 was an improvement of 47 seconds over his season best time of 27:37, which Batey ran at the Fredonia State Triangular Meet. This impressive improvement of pace allowed his teammates to set season-best times.

The Tigers are currently ranked eighth in the NCAA Atlantic Region. RIT resumes action on Oct. 19 at the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational in Rochester, NY.
