Atanasoff was named Liberty League Swimmer of the Year leading No. 18 RIT to its second straight Liberty League Crown. Atanasoff won the 100 fly with a Liberty League and program record 48.28 and won the 50 freestyle (20.13), tying the Liberty League and program record he set in the preliminaries. He swam a leg in the winning 400 medley relay that finished with a Liberty League and program record time of 3:18.16, and swam legs in three second-place relays that set program records.
