Schwan was in control from the outset, blazing the 4,000-meter Field of Dreams Cross Country Course at the Houghton Highlander Twilight Invitational in a time of 15:08.1 to win the race by just under four seconds for the second consecutive year. She is coming off a strong 2017 season, having earned All-Liberty League first team accolades and All-Atlantic Region plaudits.
