Tucker Knapp

Tucker Knapp enters his first season as Director of Hockey Operations in 2026-27. 
 
In his role at RIT, Knapp oversees day-to-day hockey operations for the program, including team logistics, equipment coordination, practice and game-day support, and operational planning at the Gene Polisseni Center.
 
Knapp joins RIT after serving as Head Equipment Manager for the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), where he oversaw all daily equipment operations, including skate sharpening, equipment repair, inventory control, budgeting, and coordination with coaches, hockey operations staff, and league equipment managers. His role also included establishing vendor relationships and maintaining a fully organized equipment storage and tracking system.
 
Before entering the professional ranks, Knapp spent nearly two years as Head Men’s Ice Hockey Equipment Manager at SUNY Cortland. He managed all aspects of team equipment, laundry operations, practice setup, game-day preparation, and communication with coaches, players, and local equipment representatives.
 
Knapp also brings significant facility operations experience from Cortland’s Alumni Arena, where he supervised ice maintenance, Zamboni operation, event setup, staff training, and arena conversions. His background includes additional recreation and facility management work at the J.M. McDonald Sports Complex.
 
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Knapp earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from SUNY Cortland in 2025 with a concentration in event and facilities management. He is also a member of the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers.
