Jon Santer enters his third year working at RIT and first as Assistant Director of Advancement for athletics in 2024.
Santer is responsible for fundraising initiatives throughout the department, working with athletic administration and coaches to secure gifts to each of the programs and the athletics general fund.
Over the past two years, Santer worked as the Digital Marketing and Communications Manager within University Advancement at RIT, and recently completed his graduate fieldwork experience assisting the Athletics Advancement team in identifying, qualifying, cultivating and soliciting alumni, parents and friends of RIT Athletics.
Santer has an extensive background working in collegiate athletics, and was most recently an Associate Director of Athletics for Communications at Mount Holyoke College from 2019-22. Prior to that, Santer spent five years working as the Coordinator of Media Relations within the Athletics Department at his alma mater, Springfield College. In addition to these roles, Santer was also the Executive Director of the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association during the 2018-19 academic year.
Santer holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and sports journalism, as well as a master’s degree in athletic leadership from Springfield. He was also a four-year member and captain of the men’s lacrosse team and helped lead the Pride to four-consecutive berths in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Santer resides in Henrietta with his wife, Jennifer and his two sons, Simon and Harrison.
