Jamie Heffron

Jamie Heffron joined RIT Athletics full-time in November 2024 after previously serving as a part-time trainer for the previous eight years.  Jamie is currently the team Massage Therapist for the Rochester Knighthawks in the NLL box lacrosse league.  With a strong background in rehabilitative and preventative therapies, Jamie brings over two decades of experience supporting athletes in clinical, academic, and professional sports environments.
 
Prior to joining RIT Athletics, Jamie worked as an Athletic Trainer at Rochester Regional Health, where he managed injury evaluations, developed and implemented rehabilitation programs, and served as a liaison between athletes, coaches, and healthcare providers. His extensive career also includes serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the New York Dragons Arena Football Club and Head Athletic Trainer for the New York Titans indoor lacrosse team where he provided comprehensive care for professional athletes and oversaw sports medicine logistics for both organizations.
 
An experienced educator, Jamie is currently an adjunct professor in the Exercise Science department here at RIT and has held adjunct teaching roles at Hofstra University, designing and leading courses in musculoskeletal injury rehabilitation. His dedication to advancing athletic training is also evident through his work as a licensed massage therapist.
 
Jamie earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Massage Therapy license from the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in Rochester, NY.   Based in Pittsford, NY, Jamie is committed to fostering athlete health and performance at RIT.
