2013: Played and started in all 21 games … All-Liberty League honorable mention selection … tallied four points on one goal and two assists … second on the team with 1,926 minutes played … played a full contest in 16 of RIT’s 21 games … helped RIT’s defense hold opponents to just 0.67 goals per game and 12 shutouts … scored the game-winning goal in the 107th minute of RIT’s double overtime win against Otterbein at the Rachel Miller Memorial Tournament … tallied assists in wins over Hartwick and Clarkson … fired 20 shots, including nine on goal … had a season-high three shots in a game twice.

2012: Played and started all 18 games… finished the season with four points on a goal and two assist… tallied lone goal versus Grove City on Sept. 7… had an assist versus Bard and Vassar… played in all eight Liberty League contests… logged 1,642 minutes… fired six shots on goal. STATS

2011: Appeared in all 18 games, starting 17… helped anchor a defensive unit that held opponents to just 1.43 goals per game… fired two shots in a 3-2 win over Liberty League foe St. Lawrence… also had shots against Rensselaer, Skidmore and Fredonia. STATS

2010: Appeared in and started all 18 games … helped anchor a tenacious Tiger defense, allowing only 0.94 goals per game … tied for first on the team with two game-winning goals, accounting for her two goals of the season … made her collegiate debut in the season-opener against John Carroll, scoring her first collegiate and game-winning goal in the 2-1 win … fired the game-winning goal in a 4-1 win over Elmira … dished out an assist against Keene State for a 4-1 win. Before RIT: Played three years of varsity soccer at Fairport High School … senior captain … earned All-Monroe County honors … led Fairport to the 2008 Section V and Western Regional Championships … led team to the Class AA New York State Championship Game … played in the Monroe County Exceptional Senior Game … also played varsity basketball and lacrosse … earned All-Monroe County honors and led team to county championships in each sport.

Personal: A two-sport athlete, Shelby played for the Tigers women’s lacrosse team, where she was the 2010 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year and 2013 Liberty Player of the Year … sister Brittany also played soccer and lacrosse for the Tigers … civil engineering major … born May 1, 1991, in Rochester, N.Y. … daughter of Tammy and John Vakiener.
