Tom Natalie, now in his 13th season as RIT’s women’s soccer
coach, has led the team to 10 postseason berths. Last year, he
led the Tigers to a 9-7-2 overall record, which included RIT’s
first-ever win over the University of Rochester and a trip to
the ECAC Upstate Tournament. Natalie, RIT’s all-time leader
in coaching wins with 90, is a two-time Empire 8 Coach of
the Year selection, in 2000 and 2006. He has led the Tigers to
three Empire 8 Tournaments (2002, 2003 and 2006), and have
participated in the NYSWCAA Tournament seven times.
A National Soccer Coaches Association of America nationally
licensed coach, Natalie graduated from the University
of Rochester in 1986 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
While at Rochester he played fullback for the Yellowjackets.
From 1989 to 1997, he coached the U19 girl’s teams for the
Greece Soccer Club and the Rochester Spirit, leading them to
six consecutive Rochester District Championships. He served
on the board of directors for both clubs from 1991 to 1999,
and co-founded the Empire United Soccer Club. Currently, he
serves as the boy’s coach for Empire United.
In 1990, Natalie took over the coaching duties for the
Greece Arcadia High School JV girl’s team, leading them to
two league titles and a 47-8-8 overall record. He also served as
the coach of the U19 district Olympic Development Program
squad.
Natalie, an engineering manager for Bausch and Lomb,
lives in Greece with his wife, Barbara, and their two children, Douglas and Jacob.
