David Lopez-Cepero

David Lopez-Cepero begins his second season as an assistant coach on the RIT women’s soccer staff. Lopez-Cepero brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the RIT staff and will be responsible for helping Head Coach Liz Masterson in training, as well as assisting in game-day operations, team management as well as recruiting

Prior to arriving at RIT, Lopez-Cepero was the Head Coach for Classics Eagles U17 team in Columbus, Ohio and posted an overall record of 18-7-4 while winning the Buckeye Premiere League “Premier 2 Division” in 2011. From 2009-2010, Lopez-Cepero was the Head Coach of the Ohio State Women’s Soccer Club and led the team to an NIRSA Championship berth in Phoenix, Ariz., and finished in the Elite 8.

Lopez-Cepero is a 2007 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in education. While at Indiana Wesleyan, Lopez-Cepero was an NAIA honorable mention All-American selection in 2007, as well as an NCCAA honorable mention All-American. Lopez-Cepero also garnered First Team All-Region and First-Team All-Conference accolades in 2007.

After graduation, Lopez-Cepero played for the Cincinnati Kings of the United States Soccer League. He recently received his USSF "C" license.

Lopez-Cepero and his wife, Molly, reside in Rochester.
