Mat Faas

Mat Faas begins his third season as an Assistant Coach for the RIT Women’s Lacrosse team in 2017-18. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Tigers coaching staff.
 
Faas has over 15 years of coaching experience at all levels. Most recently from   2010-11, Faas was an Assistant Coach at the University of Delaware. While there, he oversaw the offense and worked with the goalies to improve technique and skill.

Faas began his collegiate coaching career in 2006 as an Assistant Coach at St. Bonaventure where he was in charge of the defense, helping the Bonnies to the conference championship tournament. In 2007 Faas gained international coaching experience as he led the U-19 Haudenosaunee National Team at the 2007 U-19 Women’s Lacrosse World Cup.    
                                                                                                                                  
From 2007-2010, Faas was an assistant coach at Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. While at Limestone, Faas helped lead the team to the NCAA Quarter Finals and two NCAA Semi-Final appearances. Throughout his coaching career he has mentored multiple All-Conference, Conference Player of the Year, and All-American players.

Currently, Faas is the Founder and Director for Revive Lacrosse, which helps players improve their individual skills. He is also the Director of Common Goal Lacrosse Club, providing instructional training and teaching resources for youth lacrosse players and coaches.
 
He and his wife Morgan Faas reside in Rochester with their son.
