Former RIT captain Keltie Jones makes the transition from the ice to the bench, as an assistant coach for the Tigers in 2009-10.
Jones wrapped up a stellar two-year run with the Tigers in 2008-09, leading the team to its highest ranking in program history (No. 2) and a 21-3-2 mark. She led RIT’s high-powered offense with 26 assists and was tied for second on the squad with 34 points last season to earn All-ECAC honorable mention accolades. Jones’ 26 assists were tied for third in all of Division III.
In 2007-08, Jones tallied seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points in 26 games. She recorded 56 points (15-41-56) in 52 games at RIT. The Tigers were 40-10-2 during that time and have become a national power.
Before arriving at RIT, Jones played two seasons at SUNY Plattsburgh, helping lead the Cardinals to the 2007 NCAA Division III Championship. She was an assistant captain during that season and recorded 24 points (8-16-24) in 58 career games with the Cardinals.
Jones played junior hockey for the Burlington Jr. Barracudas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology in May, 2009.
