- Ran in four cross country events.
BEFORE RIT:
- Captain of girls cross country team her senior year at Plum Senior High School.
- Was awarded a variety of team awards during high school, including the Outstanding Runner Award, Freshman of the Year, and the Extra Effort Award.
- Member of National Honors Society.
PERSONAL:
- Full name: Ashley Maria Persia.
- Daughter of Richard Persia and Karla Mackowski.
- Sister of Kacie Persia.
- Started running because her sister Kacie also did cross country.
- Favorite athletic-related moment: Lost one of her shoes while running a 1600 race in her freshman year of high school, only to set a then-personal best time with just one shoe!
- Best advice received: "Do your best and forget the rest."
- Says her teammates have had the biggest influence on her athletic career.
- Raised money for Make-A-Wish with the National Honors Society in high school.
- Hobbies include art, video games, and listening to music.
