Mary Lynn Siegel

Mary Lynn Siegel (formerly Arlotta) begins her sixth season as an assistant coach for the RIT softball team in 2015-16. She works mostly with the pitching staff and the outfielders.

Siegel, a native of Buffalo, N.Y. earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from D’Youville College in 2009. She played two years at D’Youville College, earning team MVP honors in 2007 and 2008. She was the D’Youville Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2009, and earned All-Northeastern Athletic Conference honorable mention accolades in 2008. In addition, Siegel helped lead the Western team to a Bronze Medal at the 2007 Empire State Games.

In 2008, Siegel recorded one of the best single-seasons in program history. In the pitchers' circle she set single-season records (that still stand) in innings pitched (164.0), complete games (26), strikeouts (180), appearances (32), and wins (14). She led the team in hits (44), batting average (.407), on-base percentage (.440), and stolen bases (9). She led the NEAC in appearances and was second in strikeouts and wins.

Siegel served as an assistant coach at D’Youville in 2009, helping the Spartans reach the finals of the NEAC Tournament.

Prior to starring at D’Youville, Siegel played two years at Edinboro University, where she was a two-time scholar athlete.

Siegel was a standout at Mount St. Mary Academy in Buffalo, winning the Monsignor Martin League MVP twice, in 2003, and 2004. She was also an All-Western New York fourth team selection in both seasons.

Siegel resides in Rochester and is a registered nurse in Acute Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center at Strong Memorial Hospital. She is married to RIT Director of Hockey Operations, Jeff Siegel. The couple has a daughter, Avery.
