Ken Rasmussen enters his 13th year as an assistant track and field coach at RIT in 2018-19. He brings nearly 45 years of coaching experience with expertise in the areas of sprinting, hurdling, jumping and relays.
 
RIT’s men’s track and field coaching staff has earned three Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year honors since joining in 2011-12, while the women’s staff was honored in 2017.

In addition to coaching at RIT, he coaches indoor and outdoor track at Edison Tech. High School. RIT’s All American 400-meter hurdler Harley Wilson is the latest addition to his 37 All-Americans, 96 state champions and hundreds of all stars and Section V champions. The boys’ teams at Edison won the Section V Championship 13 times between 2000 and 2010.

In 2002 and 2004 Rasmussen was awarded the Section V girls’ track and field coach of the year award. In addition, he received the Rochester City School District Excellence Award in coaching. Prior to working at Edison Tech., he coached at Franklin, Monroe and Webster Schroeder High Schools, in addition to SUNY Geneseo.

Rasmussen has competed at the Masters Level in numerous local, national and state events, winning several medals at the Empire State Games. He is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo.
