Sean Coots begins his first season as a volunteer assistant on the RIT men’s soccer coaching staff. Coots, a defender for the Tigers from 2010-13, started every game during his four years. In 2012, he finished tied for fourth on the team in scoring with eight points (four goals). He netted two game-winning goals, and he anchored a defense that recorded six shutouts and allowed 17 goals in 17 games, as the team compiled a 9-7-1 record (3-4-1 in the Liberty League). He was an All-Liberty first-team selection in 2012 and a second-team selection in 2011

Coots was named to the 2012 CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America District 19 Men’s Soccer Team for Division III. He also earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America all-east honors as well as third-team NSCAA scholar all-east region honors.

Coots, is currently pursuing his a Master degree in mechanical engineering at RIT.
