Biography
Career: 2008 Inside Lacrosse/Face-Off Magazine Third Team Preseason All-American.
2007: Earned All-Empire 8 first team honors … led RIT with 106 ground balls and was 189-for-315 (.600) from the face-off “X” despite suffering from nagging injuries … 189 face-off wins were the fifth-most in one season at RIT … scored goals in wins over Alfred and Utica … dished out his first assist and was 18-for-25 in face-offs and grabbed a career-best 11 ground balls in the season-opening win over Washington College … won a career-best 19 face-offs and had 11 ground balls against Nazareth … was 12-for-13 on draws against Alfred … dished out two assists and grabbed 10 ground balls in a 13-6 win over Keuka … went 15-for-17 on face-offs and compiled 10 ground balls against Elmira.
2006: Emerged as one of the best face-off men in the conference … won 65% of his face-offs… won 138 draws… had 75 ground balls… scored first collegiate goal in an 18-5 against St. John Fisher … was a perfect 10-of-10 on face-offs in an 18-11 win over Alfred … went 9-of-10 and 10-of-11 on face-offs in wins over Eastern Connecticut State and Elmira.
2005: Appeared in seven contests … won 15-of-34 face-offs (.441) … grabbed 11 ground balls … was 8-for-13 on face-offs, while adding five ground balls in a 12-10 win over SUNY Geneseo in the ECAC Upstate Semifinal.
Prior to RIT: Played varsity lacrosse, football, basketball and soccer at Lafayette High School … led Lafayette to 2004 Section III and New York State Championship … earned All-League honors in football, basketball, lacrosse and soccer.
Personal: Finance major … son of Renate and Roy Brunner.
