Former RIT lacrosse great and 2016 RIT Senior Male Athlete of the Year, Matt Hossack, joins the coaching staff for the 2017 season. Hossack was recently selected 14th overall iby the Saskatchewan Rush in the 2016 National Lacrosse League Draft.
Hossack, was the Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016, and was finished his career at RIT fifth all time with 369 career ground balls and was honored by the Rochester Press Radio Club as the Rich Funke, Jr. Male College Athlete of the Year in 2016. He was named the 2015 USILA Iroquois Nationals Award winner for Division III's finest player, and was named Liberty League Tournament MVP in 2015 and 2016
Hossack, who made his professional debut for the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse, earned MLL Rookie of the Week honors, and helping the Outlaws win the 2016 MLL Championship.
He finished career at RIT 5th all time with 369 ground balls, second with 139 caused turnovers, and is tied for 70th all time in scoring with 77 points on 42 goals and 35 assists. Hossack was a three-time USILA All-American, including first team selections in 2015 and 2016, and was named the USILA long-stick midfielder of the year in 2015 and 2016.
Hossack is finishing his degree in mechanical engineering at RIT.
