Wayne Childs, a 1993 graduate of RIT and former pitcher for the Tigers, is back for his third season as an assistant pitching coach.
Childs has over 20 years of amateur baseball coaching experience, ranging from youth leagues to college-level play, specializing in pitching instruction.
He has served as an Associate Scout for the Atlanta Braves and as an Evaluation Assistant for the Kansas City Royals. As a player, Childs spent two years at SUNY Ulster, where he was an NJCAA Region XV All-Star, before transferring to RIT for the final two years of his collegiate career. In his final year at RIT, he served as a team captain and earned the team’s 1993 Most Valuable Player award.
Childs lives in Lima, N.Y. with his wife, Jacky, and their three children, Madelyn, Derek, and Andrew.
