Biography
2008-09: Played in 35 games and emerged as an excellent two-way player … recorded career-highs of five goals, eight assists, and 13 points … led RIT with three shorthanded goals, which was tied for sixth nationally … tied a career-high with a shorthanded goal and an assist in game three of the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals agianst Holy Cross, a 9-5 RIT win … was plus-3 in that contest … tallied a goal and three assists in the three-game quarterfinal series against Holy Cross … recorded shorthanded goals in wins over Connecticut and Mercyhurst … tied for third in AHA play with two shorthanded goals … recorded a point in 12 different games … RIT was 9-3-0 when he scored a point … named to the AHA All-Academic team.
2007-08: Became a regular in the lineup as the season progressed … appeared in 30 games … tallied three goals and four assists for seven points … finished second on the team with a plus-8 … led RIT with a plus-10 rating in Atlantic Hockey Association play … was plus-3 in wins over Holy Cross and Bentley … scored two of his three goals against Canisius … tallied a goal in his first game of the year … also scored a goal in a 5-1 win at Holy Cross … fired 54 shots on goal … named to the AHA All-Academic team.
2006-07: Saw action in 10 games … had his first collegiate goal and an assist in a 4-4 tie at Air Force … recorded 21 penalty minutes … had 10 shots on goal … played in his first game at Union … finished minus-1 … named to the Atlantic Hockey Association All-Academic team.
Before RIT: Played part of 2005-06 season with the Buffalo Junior Sabres of the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League (OPJHL) … traded to the Streetsville Derbys in February, 2006 … played in the Royal Bank Cup with Streetsville … tallied 29 points on seven goals and 22 assists in 35 games … 2005-06 was Alexin’s first year of junior hockey … helped lead the Buffalo Saints to a New York State Midget Championship and earned a trip to the USA Hockey National Championships.
