Biography

2023:
  • Competed in four races during the cross country season
  • Best finish was at Terry Rodenbeck Invitational, finishing fifth with a 4K time of 15:05.2
  • Earned three top-20 finishes
  • Placed 11th out of 100 runners at the Liberty League Championship with a time of 22:39.2
  • Finished 35th at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional with a time of 22:46.4
2022-23:
  • Ran in five cross country events, including both the Liberty League and NCAA Niagara Regional Championships.
  • Ran personal-best 24:22.4 in the 6K Mike Woods Invitational. 

2021-22: 
  • Made college debut at the Fisher-Rodenbeck Early Season Invite.
  • Finished 11th in the 5000 at the RIT January Friday Meet with a time of 21:07.38.
  • Took part in five outdoor events including finishing 13th at the Liberty League Outdoor Track & Field Championship in the 1500 with a time of 5:21.13.

BEFORE RIT:
  • 2021 track team MVP and valedictorian at Lake Shore Senior High School.
  • Member of National Honors Society and Lambda Sigma Honors Society.
  • Started long distance running as freshman in high school. Credits her high school coach for getting her into the sport.
PERSONAL:
  • Born in Buffalo.
  • Full name is Sierra Delaney Danieu.
  • Daughter of Michelle and Kevin Danieu. Her father, Kevin, has served in the Air Force.
  • Has a brother named Dale.
  • Holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
  • Hobbies include spending time with her dog, traveling, kayaking, and hiking.
  • Has taken part in several charity events, including a beach cleanup for the National Honors Society in 2021 and a can drive for the Lake Shore Music Department in 2018 and 2019.
  • Best advice she’s ever received: “Running is mostly a mind game.”
