ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT first-year forward Evan Konyen was named the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Rookie of the Week, Tuesday.

Konyen scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in Saturday's 1-0 upset of No. 8/9 Penn State and also scored both the Tiger goals in last Monday's 3-2 setback at Clarkson.

Konyen currently leads RIT with seven goals and is tied for second with 12 points. He is also the third Tiger to garner AHA Rookie of the Week honors this season, joining Zach Wigle (Nov. 11) and Caleb Elfering (Oct. 28).

RIT will host Robert Morris this weekend for an AHA doubleheader. Friday's game is slated for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff, while Saturday's rematch will start at 5:05 p.m.
